The "Battle of Elizabethtown" To Be Held May 31st"
The next Hub City Tournament, "The Battle of
Elizabethtown" will be held on May 31st and again it will be held at
the Family Buffet in Elizabethtown, Kentucky!
Last year the event was won by Chris Bush with Mike Thomas, Steve Dillard and Jennifer Ishee tieing for 2nd place!

Ken McDonald Takes First Place In The Shamrock Open!
Fourteen players participated in the 2014 Shamrock Open held in Elizabethtown on March 22, 2014. Kenneth McDonald took first place with a score of 3.5-0.5! USCF expert Mike Thomas and Jacob Hill tied for second place with a score of 3-1.
Congratulations
to Amy Nunn for first place in the Under 1400!
She went on to gain 107 rating points!

president Randas Burns dropped by and played a game with Justin Brown who
received a bye in the last round.

The Snowflake Open II Is Scheduled For January 25th!
Last year the event was won by Terry Fathauer with Jennifer Ishee and Johnny Owens tieing for 2nd place!
Terry went to the hospital for surgery shortly after Thanksgiving last year and ended up having a heart attack while in the hospital! It was great to see him at last month's tournament and we hope he continues playing chess.

Hereford and Ishee Tie For 1st Place In "The Christmas Open II"

Josiah Hereford and Jennifer Ishee played to a draw in Round 2 and won their other
3 games to tie for 1st place in "The Christmas Open II." They split the 1st/2nd place
prize money!
Three players tied for 1st and split the Under 1800 prize money.

Christmas Open II Is Scheduled For December 28th!
I will be hosting "The Christmas Open II" on December 28th at the Family Buffet in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.
Last year the tournament was won by USCF Expert John M. Marcsik.
